2011/2012 Dancer of the Month

The " Dancer of the Month" is a special award presented to deserving and hard working students. Awards are given out during the school year starting in September and running through until April. Kimberley Dance Academy, along with local community sponsors, are honouring these young performers achievements by recognizing them in the local newspaper , highlighting their accomplishments along with their other interests and activities.

Kimberley Dance Academy would like to once again extend a huge thank-you to Grubstake Pizza for their ongoing support. A special thank-you this year to our newest sponsor, Sole to Soul Esthetic Studio, who is also donating a gift certificate to each monthly winner.

Each one of the monthly winners will also have the chance to be named "Dancer of the Year" at Kimberley Dance Academy’s year end production in May. With this title, they will receive a scholarship from Artistic Director Leslie Lindberg to help further their dance education. Congratulations and good luck to all!

Sydney Bevilacqua

Sydney is 14 years old and attends Selkirk Secondary School. Sydney has been dancing since she was 6 years old and is currently enrolled in Tap, Jazz, Ballet/Lyrical and Company.

Her other interests include camping, volleyball and spending time with her family and friends.

Kennedy Sterzer

Kennedy is 14 years old and attends Selkirk Secondary School.

Kennedy has been dancing since she was 10 years old and is currently enrolled in tap and jazz.

Her other interests include hockey, singing and basketball.

Taryn MacLeod

Taryn is 10 years old and attends McKim Elementary School. Taryn has been
dancing since she was 2 ½ years old and is currently enrolled in tap, jazz and ballet.

Taryn is also involved in the class assistant program where she volunteers her time once a week helping the younger dancers.

Her other interests include camping, soccor and swimming.

Emma Guilbault

Emma is 16 years old and attends Selkirk Secondary School. Emma has been dancing since she was 3 years old and is currently enrolled in tap, jazz, ballet/lyrical, pointe and Company class.

Emma is also involved in the Teaching training program where she volunteers one day a week at the studio assisting and mentoring the younger dancers

Her other interests include art, skiing and traveling.

Makayla Ashby

Makayla is 7 years old and attends Lindsay Park Elementary School. Makayla is presently in her 1st year of lessons.

She is currently enrolled in Boogie Dudes, a tap /jazz combination class. Her other interests include skating.

Londen Heinemann

L onden is 14 years old and attends Selkirk Secondary School. Londen has been
dancing since she was 7 years old and is presently in her 7th year of lessons.

She is currently taking classes in ballet/lyrical, jazz, tap and company class. Her other interests include swimming and spending time with her friends and pets.

Violet McPhee

Violet is 10 years old and attends McKim Middle School. Violet has been dancing
since she was 3 years old and is presently in her 8th year of lessons.

She is currently taking classes in ballet/lyrical, pre-pointe, jazz, tap and was also invited to join the company class this year who will be traveling once again in the spring of 2013.

Rachel Westergaard

Rachel is 7 years old and attends Marysville Elementary School. Rachel has been
dancing since she was 5 years old and is presently in her 3 year of lessons.

She is currently taking
classes in ballet and tap. Her other interests include swimming and camping.
